ZUCROW, MAURICE JOSEPH
ZUCROW, MAURICE JOSEPH (1899–1975), U.S. aeronautical engineer. Zucrow was born in Kiev and taken to the U.S. in 1914. He became professor of gas turbines and jet propulsion at Purdue University in 1946. Zucrow was a member of several advisory committees on rocket engines and propulsion systems of the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics, and of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He wrote Principles of Jet Propulsion and Gas Turbines (1948) and Aircraft and Missile Propulsion (2 vols., 1958). (Samuel Aaron Miller)
